The Lady Maxwell Room

The Lady Maxwell Room is named after Lady Maxwell, a relation of the Maxwell inhabitants of the Castle who was a great supporter of both historic building restoration & conservation, and the Arts & Crafts movement. Decorated in the Arts & Crafts style with a Scottish theme throughout, this room is perfect for those who appreciate the eclecticism and coziness of victorian Arts & Crafts interiors.

The Lady Maxwell Room in situated in the old porter's room (where the Castle's gatehouse once stood), at the corner the east and north ranges of the Castle Courtyard with a dedicated entrance. It's en-suite, with a king-size box bed, in-room premium tea & coffee making facilities (Fortnum & Mason tea and Nespresso Vertuo coffee). Fresh milk is provided upon request.
